Open Consoles

"Open consoles" in Cardiff during OrganFest

Would you like to play an organ during OrganFest ?

In addition to the venues already playing host to OrganFest events, a number of other buildings with interesting instruments have kindly thrown open their doors so that the organs can be examined and played at designated times on Sat 7 Sept and the afternoon of Sun 8 Sept:
St Andrew & St Teilo Church in Wales
(two organs: Vowles, 1900; Hindmarsh, 1974)*
St Peter's RC Church (Späth Orgelbau, 2006)
Tabernacl Chapel (Griffen & Stroud, 1907)
Cardiff Masonic Hall (Griffen & Stroud, 1907)

*St Andrew & St Teilo also houses the component parts of a Mutin/Cavaillé-Coll (c.1903), thought to be the only organ from this factory in the UK to retain its original pipework, console and action in its entirety.

More details of arrangements will be given in the OrganFest programme booklet
available at Registration at Eglwys Dewi Sant on 6 September.
